ENERGY USE
Black
households used 1.5 trillion Btu's or 7 percent of the electricity,
natural gas, and gasoline used by all private households in
1972-73. This was less than their proportionate share of the
population (11 percent).
Blacks used
11 percent of natural gas but a much smaller proportion of
electricity (6 percent) and of gasoline (5 percent) (Table 7-4). In
