Summary Description
The IT Infrastructure Manager has overall responsibility for IT infrastructure at the foundation including foundation's data centers, servers, desktop computers and communications infrastructure. This is a global responsibility which extends to the foundation's offices in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Russia. Specific responsibilities include: setting infrastructure strategy based on the foundation's business needs and managing evaluation, selection, implementation, management and maintenance of infrastructure systems; providing secure, and reliable infrastructure systems by implementing effective infrastructure security, data back-up and disaster recovery plans, processes and systems; developing and implementing data center and system administration best practices and standard processes/procedures; managing vendor relationships and conducting evaluations/assessments of new technologies/systems; managing implementation/upgrade projects and coordinating activities with application development and implementation groups; managing operating and capital budgets.
Qualifications
• Four year undergraduate degree with a concentration in information technology, computer science or related field; advanced degree preferred
• A minimum of eight years of professional experience in IT Infrastructure
• A minimum of six years managing data center, global network infrastructure and system administration functions for a large international non-profit organization or mid-size global company
• Demonstrated technical skills in client/server environments (Microsoft), wide area networks, exchange e-mail infrastructure, network security, telecommunications infrastructure and remote systems management tools
• Strong knowledge of the following major systems and applications and network hardware used by the Foundation: Windows 2003, Active Directory, Exchange 2003, Windows XP, and Office 2003, SMS and MOM 2003, Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco PIX firewalls and Veritas NetBackup
• Significant "hands on" experience with TCP/IP, firewall security, VPN (client and site-to-site), data backup, virus protection, network and system monitoring, network switching and routing, disaster recovery and software distribution
• Excellent leadership skills and interpersonal skills (i.e flexibility, diplomacy, empathy and listening skills)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong project management skills and extensive experience in leading complex and global infrastructure upgrade projects and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Extensive operating and capital expenses management and budgeting experience
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
• An orientation toward customer service and responsiveness
• A commitment to continuing education in information technology and the ability to motivate staff through effective leadership, mentoring, coaching, development, facilitation, evaluation and rewards.

Salary
$115,900 - $138,300
