Summary Description
The Program Financial Systems Administrator working under the direction of the Manager, Budgets and International Operations and in collaboration with the Manager of Grants Administration, Program Directors, Senior Grants Administrators, and other senior staff throughout the Foundation is responsible for preparing, maintaining and monitoring the NY Program units’ various budgets, and consultant service expenditures. Scope includes coordinating, supporting, and following up on quarterly budget status meetings with NY Program Directors and Program Vice Presidents; participating in the effort to identify, develop and plan the implementation of a set of standardized management performance assessment tools/metrics that will be used to measure baseline workflow efficiencies and operational savings expectations; providing technical support to develop, implement and maintain budgetary monitoring systems for NY program units; preparing quarterly management budget analysis and recommending areas for budget savings. The Program Financial Systems Administrator will also lead the effort to leverage SharePoint and other web-enabled applications as mechanisms for centralizing information on the Program Division’s key operational statuses.
Qualifications
• Experience working on complex projects utilizing excellent analytical, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Capacity to undertake complex data analysis; troubleshoot issues related to workflow and build consensus on steps for improvement.
• Ability to develop databases with ACCESS, EXCEL or similar applications.
• Demonstrated advanced skills with MS Office applications (i.e. EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT).
• Ability to adapt quickly to new computerized applications and changes in technology management.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work in high pressured environment.
• Ability to work independently, and analytically while exercising discretion and good judgment.
• Willingness and demonstrated ability to handle complex, heavy and detailed-oriented workload and assigned special projects.
• Ability to work effectively with program and other Foundation staff, and internal and external consultants.
• Understanding of and sensitivity to a diversity of cultural norms and practices.
• BS in Business Administration or Management Information Services or combination of education and equivalent experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping and accounting practices
Preferred Qualifications
• 2 – 5 years work of relevant experience requiring use of analytical skills.
• Strong working experience with Microsoft SharePoint Services.
• Knowledge of Foundation policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Grants Management System (GMS) and Grants Budget System (GBS). Familiarity with the practices of philanthropic institutions.
• Masters in Business Administration.
Salary
$71,300 - $85,100
