Summary Description
The Associate Director of Public Investments will work as a part of a team and be responsible for making recommendations for the Foundation’s externally-managed public equity, credit, and hedge fund portfolio. This will include all externally-managed public equity investments, credit investments, and hedge fund investments. Each Associate Director of Public Investments will be responsible for identifying investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on prospective investment managers and monitoring the performance of all such managers. In conjunction with the Director of Public Investments, the Associate Director of Public Investments will negotiate the terms of the Foundation’s Investments. As a member of the Foundation’s investment team, the Associate Director of Public Investments will also contribute to discussions regarding portfolio construction of the Foundation’s externally-managed public equity, credit, and hedge fund portfolio, formulation of investment strategy, manager hiring and termination decisions across the portfolio, and discussions on asset allocation and strategy at the overall portfolio level.

Qualifications
• Minimum of five years’ investment experience. • Substantial and successful experience in selecting and monitoring hedge fund, credit, and/or long-only equity managers. • Advanced finance or similar degree. CFA preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with any of the following: o hedge fund strategies (including, but not limited to, long/short equity, and market-neutral equity, event-driven, relative value strategies, etc.). o equity strategies (US Growth, US Value, Developed International, Emerging Markets, etc.). o fixed-income strategies (credit, mortgage, etc.). o derivative strategies (arbitrage, volatility, etc.). • Demonstrated ability to originate and maintain successful relationships with managers in these areas, including ability to conduct in-depth due diligence on such managers. • Direct equity and/or fixed-income portfolio experience desirable. • Strong understanding of capital markets, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional quantitative modeling capabilities (Visual Basic, Factset, Bloomberg, Ibbotson experience a plus).
