Yasmeen Allen works as a program associate on the Creativity and Free Expression team. She engages and assists in managing department projects and initiatives, conducts field research, and monitors and analyzes the team’s grantmaking practices.
Prior to joining Ford, Yasmeen was the manager of Institutional Giving at Year Up New York. In that role, she oversaw the organization's foundation, corporate, and public support portfolios. Before that, Yasmeen worked at Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, where she was responsible for securing government grants as well as corporate and foundation support for Ailey's diverse programming. She also served as an institutional fundraiser at Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy, where she raised crucial support for the organization's creative and educational programs.
Yasmeen is a graduate of the Professional Children’s School, which she attended while training at the School of American Ballet at Lincoln Center. She earned a BA in political science from Tufts University and a JD from the George Washington University Law School. She is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
