Nancy Moloantoa is a program associate in the Southern Africa office. She supports the foundation’s work in the region through strategy development, research, and analysis, serving as a key member of the program team. She has been particularly responsible for development of the foundation’s renewed engagement on gender and racial justice, with specific focus on violence against women & girls. She has also represented the office in several collaborative donor initiatives, and she leads the foundation’s internal work on diversity, equity, and inclusion in Southern Africa.
Prior to joining Ford in 2017, Nancy was a grants manager at the Cape Town Refugee Centre. She is committed to promoting transformation and transformative practice within the philanthropic community and the social justice sector, and she is passionate about migration issues, women’s rights, and youth empowerment and development.
Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and is working toward a master’s degree at Wits Centre for Diversity Studies—with a thesis that explores the role of donors in promoting racial and gender transformation. In her spare time, she does volunteer work in the Baha’i community, is an avid traveler, reader, and aspiring writer, and enjoys yoga and running.
