On September 11 and 12, the foundation is proud to host the Women and Girls Rising conference. Organized by the Roosevelt Institute, the two-day convening is an opportunity for policy makers, activists, and scholars to strategize about how to ensure that women and girls around the world have the rights and opportunities they need to drive the prosperity and security of their families, communities, and nations.

A full day of discussions on Thursday, September 11 will focus on learning from and building on past progress and challenges, and conversations on Friday, September 12 will look to the future of gender rights and equality. Over these two days, some 60 speakers from 25 countries will address subjects including sexual and reproductive rights, girls’ education, labor in the workplace and the home, child marriage, environmental sustainability and 21st-cenury movement building. At 4 p.m. on September 12, former US secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton will address the conference.

Attendance is by invitation only, but you can tune in to a live stream right here, beginning at 9 a.m. both days. And we hope you’ll take part in the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #WGR14.

Visit the official conference website for a detailed schedule.
